Can you get a tattoo while breastfeeding?

My daughter is 1 month old and I wanna get a little tattoo for her but i’ve heard you can’t breastfeed and get a tattoo as it can be harmful for the baby? Can it enter your milk somehow?

No. And no reputable tattoo artist will do that to a nursing mom.

Here’s the one I got. It hurt so much, idk if it was just the place or if hormones made it hurt more but it healed beautifully

My husband is an artist and he was comfortable tattooing me! I waited until she was 2 months old and had gotten her first vaccines. No idea why that felt right to me but it did. She’s 5 months now and obviously no issues. Just make sure your artist is reputable. Tattoos post more risk to you than baby, if you get an infection

I wouldn’t as your hormones are so different than if you weren’t breastfeeding. Tattoo won’t heal your skin might not take and it can pass into your milk

Its recomended you wait until your not breastfeeding anymore. Risk of infection, hepatitis etc. Some places probobly will tattoo you when your breastfeeding but that would make me question there legitimacy as a tattoo parlor

Ask your artist what they’re comfortable with first, and then take a look at the risks of tattoos while breastfeeding and decide that your personal comfort level is.

Forget the ink itself what about the risk of getting hepatitis?! I know tattoos can be extremely clean but there’s still always that risk
