20 Month old not talking

Hey all

My 20 month old is still not talking. I try to encourage him a lot but all he can really do is point and whine. He babbles sometimes but hasn’t said his first words yet..In the meantime, I have him signed up for speech therapy (at least 9 month waiting list) and the wait is making me anxious. He seems to understand a few words (milk, food, bedtime) but I just worry if he’s way behind considering his age. He will be going to daycare soon so I’m hoping his vocabulary will improve once he interacts and plays with other children.
