Hot baths?

Question

I just read that hot baths >100 degrees are bad for your fetus, especially in the first trimester.  Is this real?  I love very hot baths...although not sure about the exact temperature?

Baths over 100 degrees should be avoided. But assuming your bathtub isn't heated, even of the temp is a little above at first, it usually cools down pretty quick as you soak, which means it's usually safe cause you're only in the heat for a short time. Hot tubs (that stay at the same hot temp) should be avoided.

I had my first prenatal appointment today. I have a hot tub and have been using it daily since I found out. I asked my doctor and she said it's fine unless it's over 99 degrees. Basically you want it close to your body temperature. I love my hot baths but have accepted that I'll have to give them up for a while. She recommended a pool thermometer for my bath tub. Good luck!

if your pregnant you should not be taking any baths only showers .
