My stepdaughter went through a phase, when she was about two and a half, where she’d hit me and her mother. She wouldn’t touch anyone else.
First time she did it, we were out watching my partner play footy. I told her off. It was completely unprovoked, we were sitting next to each other just making noise for the hell of it. I told my partner as soon as he finished his footy game.
Second time was the next day, she was going for a nap and I was following them to give her a hug and kiss – as we do every day. She ran up to me, hit me in the stomach and screamed “no, go away”. Luckily my partner witnessed it, and he was able to intervene. She refused to say sorry, so she was given another chance to say sorry when she woke up. She still refused, so he refused to play with her until she apologised. Took her 5 minutes to apologise.
She never hit me again. From what I understand, she kept hitting her mum until she moved in with her partner a few months later.

Every.Damn.Day... my 2017 and 2018 babies just don’t stop. We don’t condone hurting each other in our home but they just won’t stop 😩

Only his sibling. We separate them and tell them we are not going to let them hit and we are going to keep them safe. Once he’s calm we’ll talk about what happened and what he could do next time instead of pushing his sister. Validate the emotion but not the behaviour (I see you were upset she took your toy. I would feel upset too. It’s not ok to push.)

Mine doesn’t, but we had a big problem with a boy in her Pre-K class that kept “whacking” her. I say “whacking” because that’s what she kept saying to me. One day he hit her, another day he scratched her face, one day he slapped her. She just used the term “whack” because it was a combination of multiple things. 
My daughter is very self aware, of basically everything and she does a good job of understanding what she should/shouldn’t do. She’s a little anxious and HATES getting “in trouble.” The teachers at her school reached out to the other students parents, I’m really not sure what happened, because the parents were really dismissive and didn’t believe he was doing this, and there were some big problems at home. They actually ended up moving. 
I talked to my daughter about how this behavior isn’t appropriate and how it’s not kind to hit, push, or “whack” other people. I told her that she needed to tell him to stop and that if he continued that behavior that she should avoid playing with him. I also talked to the teachers about the situation, because she came home three times in a 2 week period with marks from this other student. They didn’t have many solutions for me, as this student seemed to be doing this to multiple students and my daughter always played with him because she said he “always looked lonely.” They has spoken to the parents multiple times and the parents weren’t helpful or willing to accept their son was at fault. 
I also told my daughter that, if he purposely sought her out to hit her in any way again that she should defend herself. I’m not one to tell my kid to hit another student back, and made sure she knew that she should not do that unless he put her in a position where this was her only option. I also made sure with her and the teachers that she wasn’t doing anything to provoke this behavior. Luckily he ended up moving, so we never had to deal with it again.
