Recessed chin/jaw newborn
When my baby boy was born I noticed his chin was pretty recessed and I had expressed concern to his pediatrician and she didn’t seem to worried about it. My fiancé also has a small jaw/chin which we figured it may just be a genetic trait. But I also noticed right away he kept choking on his spit which I also brought to his pediatrician attention we still hadn’t been discharged at that point. Again didn’t seem concerned. Once we were home he kept choking while feeding and had really bad reflux would throw up an hour after a feeding And yes I burp him. He’s been gaining weight beautifully is now 2 months and has seemed to be getting a little better with the spit up. I just hate seeing him in discomfort and feel like I should be pushing for more answers. Maybe he has a tongue tie? I’m hoping it’s nothing really serious like may need surgery on his jaw. I breastfeed so far haven’t had any major red flags other then feeling like our latch can be a lot stronger. What do you mommas think? Should I push to have a specialist look at him?
