Bengay Lidocaine while pregnant ?

My list of okay-medicines from my doctor says bengay is okay to use, but the internet gives me conflicting answers. I have a tube of Bengay Lidocaine 4% (lidocaine hcl being the active ingredient listed) from before pregnancy, is this okay to use ? Lidocaine seems to be okay, from what i’ve read, but i’m not sure if that’s just for dental/oral work. This product does NOT contain methyl salicylate. I’m 33 weeks, and it would be applied on small section of my lower spine, not a large area.
