What's the deal?

Okay so I've been on BC for more than three years now and I take it every day at 8:00 p.m and i feel it's still not doing what it's meant to do other than keep me from getting pregnant. I have sevearly irregular periods and yes I talk to my doctor about them and my soul perpus is to regulate them. But since I've been on this my period will start either two days into my Sugers or it will start after I've taken my Sugers and I've moved on to the normal pills. Has anyone had this? Do I up the hormones? Or does it take more than three years for it to fully track my cycle?
