Hello,

I am currently 30 weeks pregnant and my ob ordered a Syphilis test. I was not worried because I have only been with my husband and have never had a positive STD test in my life. However, things turned for me really quick. They did 3 different tests.

1. TREPONEMA PALLADIUM AB - positive

2. RPR - negative

3. MHA-TP - negative

My ob said it was likely a false positive and they did a retest while she was out but only for the RPR and it was negative again. I had my husband test but they only did the RPR and it was negative. I felt a relief but only for a few days. My ob returned from vacay and ordered the TREPONEMA PALLADIUM AB to just be on the safe side and it was positive again. She is now referring me to a specialist. In the meantime, I plan to send my husband for the same one that I continue to get positive. I know I have not cheated and from what I have been reading, if he is positive, he probably had it in the past and maybe got treatment. I have never been so afraid to get some results for labs. I’m extremely worried for my baby and my marriage. Has anyone heard of such thing or been through something similar?
