Solenne 'Sol' Rae was born gently at home at 40+1.

I had period cramps on and off all week, they were getting stronger and lost the mucus plug Thursday. I thought things would happen on Friday, but still just irregular cramps. My body was slowly preparing. Saturday I started getting surges and after 3 pushes in the pool she was out.

Compared to being in hospital, it was less painful and I could just walk around the house and relax.

My daughter helped catch her, cut the cord with dad and got to check out the placenta up close with our midwife showing her all the parts.

Everything was so perfect. Hubby didn't believe I was in labour until she came out (still having period cramps??), so he was surprised!!
