What do you do for a baby that doesn’t want to sleep on their back??

I didn’t have this issue with my first and I’m scared as hell to let him sleep on his tummy so early. What helps?? I’ve already tried swaddling his startle reflex is strong. He’s one month old.

Keep persisting. Every sleep is on his back in his crib. He’ll get used to it

My son was the same. From being new born he could roll to the side and always rolled to his side to sleep and then to his tummy. He also had colic and it was the most comfortable for him. I would wake up put him back on his back then wake up minutes later and he would be on his side. I’d just say if you notice then always put them back to back but if he’s doing it while you sleep obviously you can’t tell. Make sure where he’s sleeping is safe and there’s no loose blankets, teddies, toys, bumpers etc and they should be ok. I think some babies are just more comfortable and no matter how much you put them back on their back they’ll still roll to the side or tummy

My baby could roll right away the day she was born so i let her sleep on her tummy if she wanted to

I would not let sleep on tummy unless baby turns herself to that position.
But as I don't live in US, then the guidline here might be different (sids rates are also lower), we are suggested to put baby to sleep on side, and we don't swaddle, you need to make sure baby is in a position she doesn't roll to front. And every time you put her down to sleep, use the opposite side.
