Does your 4 year old still “get into things”?
My 4 year old still gets into things like closets and pantries and cupboards like a toddler would. It doesn’t matter how many times I tell him to stop, as soon as my attention is diverted he goes and gets into something he shouldn’t. I have child locks on every door yet he figured out how to take them off. Hell also sneak into the kitchen when I’m busy with my 2 year old or in the bathroom and pour a glass of water to purposely spill it or he’ll get out food and dump it out. He thinks it’s a game or funny like it doesn’t grasp that it’s wrong to do. I feel like he’s developmentally behind or something because he just completely doesn’t register what I’m talking about when I tell him not to do something. My 2 year old comprehends “no” better. But every time I bring this up at the pedi they tell me it’s normal. He also puts EVERYTHING into his mouth like a baby would. As soon as he touches something into his mouth it goes. Are we sure this is normal? I can seriously not leave him unattended for a second because he is getting into something.
