My husband lost his job, he was paying 90% of our monthly expenses. We can’t pay rent anymore. Our struggles started even before he lost his job, we are selling the car and will live at my parents house for a while. It’s very far away so we’d also need to sell our furnitures. It’s super stressful right now since we have a daughter and another one on the way. We wanted to find someone who would takeover our lease but we didn’t find anyone and our lease ends april 2023. Should we tell our landlord? We live in Alberta and I don’t know if he can legally force us to pay him the rest of the lease.
