Should I initiate a GoFund Me account?

My Mom had an unexpected accident a few weeks ago. She fell and broke her shoulder, knee, ankle and one of her toes, all on the same side, her dominant side, of her body. Long story short, she ended up septic, and has now been in the hospital for two weeks fighting for her life. Other things were found during this time; ulcers in her GI tract, a blockage and tear in her heart, which will result in open heart surgery to repair. My Mom and Dad don’t have health/medical insurance, and my Dad has been able to work full-time because he has basically been at my Mom’s side since the beginning of all of this. I’m thinking of starting a GoFund Me account just to help with every day necessities, to kind of help take the burden off my Dad a little more. She is very critical and they are still trying to stabilize her BP. This has been extremely hard on my entire Family, and we are all so scared of losing my Mom. She’s a fighter, and I’m hoping she’s getting closer to the road to recovery, but we all know that road is going to be treacherous and long. I appreciate al large peaues and thoughts we can get.
