Confusion with PCOS
Please if you know a lot about the testing and PCOS itself help me! So I’ve always had irregular periods for as long as I can remember and have tracked (starting 2018). I did a few blood tests because I always believed I had a hormonal issue because no matter what I tried I wouldn’t lose weight, have facial hair, acne on my back and shoulders and chest. I sometimes even go months without a period, but here’s the tricky part for me. Yes, I have acne and facial hair and I’m overweight, but what if my periods are irregular due to Plan B?
I’ve taken Plan B a few times in my life, Im not sure how long it impacts cycles. For example, when I took one in May 2018, I went 3 months without a period. Once I got my period, it was regular for about 5 months then it became irregular every month. Then again December 2020, so more than two years later, I took another Plan B and didn’t get a period for a month. Even when I got my period the first time after taking the second one, it was a shorter period and after that I would go a month without one, a month with one, 2 months missed, etc just all over the place. However, I think my periods were always irregular before I even started tracking my cycles. I just don’t remember having a month with no period. And as of now, they’re still irregular.
It’s just complicated because I don’t know if Plan B could cause this long of irregularities. I thought after 3-6 months your cycle will go back to normal. I just want to be sure that it’s not from the Plan B before I take any prescriptions for PCOS. Thank you.
