Sorry for my ignorance but I’ve always ordered things through websites and This time around I ordered from someone! And they gave me a tracking number!  What does that mean? I haven’t gotten any updates today! Is that normal?

Answer

Just means it’s been picked up and is on it’s way. USPS isn’t always the best about giving updates. Many times it will show you when it was dropped off and then you won’t see anything else until it reaches your area and goes out for delivery. 
You can’t fake this though, and it is clearly moving.
