AITA- Wanting to be more safety conscious?
ETA: I did apologize.
I take my 20mo son to swim class in the mornings and took him today and when his hair was wet he had 2 small black n blue bruises on his forehead. From last week he has a cut on his head, a cut on his leg that’s bruised, and a black toenail. I was taken aback by the forehead and embarrassed in front of the other parents in the class.
When I got home and my son was climbing the tree I said to my husband like “he’s got so many bruises people are going to think my husband is abusive” well my husband got VERY offended by this and is VERY upset at me- saying that I accused him of abuse.
I did not- I just don’t want my kid that banged up and wanted a little more safety conscience. I obviously know my son isn’t beat or even spanked - his brother is 2.5 and they wrestle and are wild and play outside all day. My husband and I are both at home currently all day- I work remote and do schoolwork- he is disabled. I tried to explain to my husband that women give other women the side eye and I don’t want to be avoided in public (already live far away from friends and family) because my child looks all banged up. He said I should always have his back and shouldn’t care what people assume/may think. I do have his back but I guess I do care what people think - I want my children to look well cared for.
So wondering from other parents …. AITA? Is this a reasonable feeling?
