FTM experience- I ended up having an emergency c section 2 days after my induction date. There was no water and poop when the doctor went to pop my water. The baby’s heart rate was dropping after every contraction - which was constant; one immediately after the other. next his bilirubin levels were too high. we gave him formula since it was that or NICU with an iv. 2 days later we were discharged. the day after discharge i ended up in the ED. spent the next 2 weeks in the hospital away from baby. i was on strong antibiotics and pain relievers yet they had no idea what i had. the medication would burn going in my iv, they had to change it once or twice a day. i was so set on breast feeding and skin to skin bonding… but being away from baby i couldn’t do either. had 4 procedures and they told me my milk was useless since it was so full of the drugs and that they would tank my supply along with the antibiotics. being stuck with no hope put me through such a bad PPD, i cried so hard my nurse had to bring me a new gown every hour one day. Lost my appetite and will completely. i was so sure the first few weeks would be magical. i spent the whole pregnancy stuck with hyperemesis gravidarum, it was supposed to be a happy time.
