Bleeding during sex and some after ???

My period is due in 4 days and me and my husband had sex tonight and it didn’t take long to realize I was bleeding, it was smeared on him and I can wipe with toilet paper and their was some fresh red blood smeared on that also. I don’t have pain and maybe slightly crampy now. I don’t need to wear a pad but wondering how often does this happen to you ladies or if it does and could it be possibly due to my period coming soon? FYI this happened another time about 4 months ago and I was about 7-10 days away from my period then and also got a vaginal ultrasound to be sure and it all looked fine and I had previously just got a pap smear 2 months prior to that episode. My GYM didn’t seem concerned but I still worry when it happens and it doesn’t happen often, Those we’re the only two times I can remember. Maybe once before a long time ago too before kids and all.
