Natural birth story

Tessa

Despite having given birth before I was unable to recognize that I was in labor. 😅 At about 2-2:30 am contractions hit. They took my full attention to breathe through HOWEVER I was able to talk if I needed to and they didn’t make a pattern (13 mins, 2 min, 6 min, 13 mins, 8 mins, 1 min, 4 mins, 7 mins, 3 mins apart). I tried to sleep, ended up taking 2 Benadryls to calm what I thought were BHCs, a Tylenol and a hot shower. Around 5:15 am decided that the contractions were SERIOUS and called my backup midwife as my midwife is on vacation. She told us to head to the birthing center. I called my mom to watch our toddler. We left at 5:40 and my water broke in the car at 5:50 am. 2 midwives waited for us on our route and followed us jic while we were on speakerphone. We were 5 minutes from the birthing center when my body started trying to push. We pulled over into a parking lot and midwife checked me, 9.5 cm 😳. Midwife climbed into our back seat for the remainder of the drive. We got in to the center and they couldn’t even get my blood pressure because I hit transition. As soon as the bath was filled I got in and the horrendous work of pushing was upon me. 20 minutes later (6:30am) our son was born! Same as my daughter I had to push extra to get his belly out. Getting the placenta out was a bit of an ordeal this time. It exploded on the way out and they had to push me really hard to get blood clots out. Consequently my toddler has been practicing the new F word she learned from mommy. 🙈 We left 4 hrs later and are now at home recovering.

Happy birthday Daxton! Our family is complete. 🥰🥰
