Not talking?

Has anyone else’s LO not said their first word yet? Mine makes noises that we have learned to mean different things but they’re not our words. We are a bilingual household so maybe that’s causing a delay?

The only clear word mine says is “muma” and thats about it. She makes noises for everything else

Super common for babies in bilingual households to take a bit longer to start saying words, after all they are processing double the amount of information! The information processing center of the brain is getting stronger every day, so while it may seem like there is a delay it often means a bilingual child will have even better language development in the long run. Of course if you are still concerned you can bring it up with your baby's doctor, but I wouldn't be concerned this early. Just keep doing what you are doing! You're doing great!

My son doesn’t talk he will say mama very sparingly but I’m not worried as he is cutting four teeth and also learning how to walk solo. I’ll keep talking to him and repeating myself but he’ll talk when he is ready to.
