It’s fucking weird to have a party based around genitals.

I say gender just because that’s the typical name of the party. I really don’t care or think this much about trivial issues like this. My closest friends and family members aren’t coming over and complaining or cancelling me for not calling the party the chronically online approved name. I’d guess they got called gender reveals instead of sex reveals just because it’s usually a family event and a lot of people are still weird with sex and consider it a dirty word around their kids. I say just call it whatever you want.

I think too many people put too much thought into these types of party. It’s more like guess who’s joining our family type thing. I don’t care for them but I also don’t shame people who do enjoy those parties.

I always enjoy other people's parties but it's not for me. 
When I was pregnant and people asked me if I knew the gender, I told them "according to the sex assigned before birth, it's a boy". So I guess that means I'd call it an SABB party. 
My baby is 15 weeks old. I won't know his gender until he's able to tell me - and even after he's told me it still could change.

It’s a gender reveal. If you don’t want one, don’t host one. If you think they’re weird, don’t attend. 
Some people get after others for being annoyed what other people do and say, but turn around and be annoyed about what other people do and say. If it doesn’t effect you, move on.
