D&C in May 2022

I had a D&C in May 2022 and exactly 4 weeks later I got my period. Heavier than usual but otherwise normal.

I then got my 2nd period 4 weeks later on July 7th. Heavier but otherwise normal.

On July 31st I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I then took a test on August 2nd and it was a faint positive. A few days later I got a clear positive when I should have been getting my period (August 4th).

On August 14th I started spotting very light. It's been intermittent but my Dr. wanted me to get checked out just in case.

I got a scan done and the scan doesn't show any gestational sac but there may be a mass which the radiologist things is retained products from my miscarriage back in May.

But if I had a negative pregnancy test on July 31st and it was positive on the day of my expected period isn't this more likely to be a new pregnancy?

My HCG levels were 5700. I am going again tomorrow to get them checked out.
