My mom was the only one to make a fuss or to ask to see my ring and congratulated us. No friends, not my family, nor my fiancés family congratulated us or ask to see my ring. I just thought they’d be more happy than this!

Some people are just “special” I wouldn’t pay too much attention to them and don’t let them rain on your parade. I didn’t get congratulations from some of his family members either but who cares 🤷🏻‍♀️

And this is how you learn who’s really your friend and who really cares about you when good things happen to you or bad things happen to you, who is there and who was happy for you and cheering you on, or helping you out. Who you can actually depend on. This is exactly why I don’t have any friends anymore. People either can’t be happy for other people because they’re miserable in their own life, people are only friends with you for a season when they need you, people only call you when they need something, etc. So either they don’t like your partner, or they don’t like you on his side, or I’m not happy about the whole situation. I don’t want you to get married, now you know peoples real opinion about it. They basically suck it up and take one for the team with you when it comes to him. You are the plus one that they tolerate. Let this be a wake up call welcome to reality. At this point I would have a private small wedding, because nobody is happy for you.
