I feel a deep, deep sadness. It's strange after all these years of being apart you can still miss someone so much. We were each other's first love from middle school into late high school. His funeral was yesterday and I fell apart when I saw his mom. His parents held me and cried. I'm a grown woman but I feel like that lost girl I used to be knowing he's gone. Has anyone else had there first love pass away? We broke up when he was stationed in Guam after joining the Air Force. We almost got back together multiple times and had both admitted we still loved each other but we knew we had grown into different people than we were and things wouldn't be the same. I love my SO dearly now and wouldn't change being with him. Still I'm sad.
