Gestational diabetes ?

Has anyone had gestational diabetes with a normal hemoglobin A1C test? I failed my 1 hour glucose and refused to do my 3 hr so I’ve been checking my glucose with machine per dr request but because my number have been mostly normal and some high after breakfast she requested the a1c test and my results were normal. I’m currently 28 weeks. Just wanted opinions I will see her on Monday

My A1C’s are textbook beautiful and I still got diagnosed at 18 weeks with GD. It has to do with the function of the placenta and not anything you did wrong.

I had GD with a normal A1C. ￼I had to take insulin because my numbers were out of control the last two months of my pregnancy. But my baby and I are good 🙏🏼.

My A1C was fine, and still is fine and i have GD and had GD in past pregnancies. So A1C really doesnt tell ya anything because how gestational diabetes works. A1C is over a longgggg period of time, like 9 months i believe makes up your A1C score. So its really not indicative of GD because GD is only when your pregnant, comes on after 15 weeks(if its esrly) usually happens around 28 weeks. So your A1C really isnt a good indication of it because you havent had GD long for it to even mess with your A1C. If your having normal sugars just keep your diet the same and check your sugars periodically and make sure they are fine.
