I just found out I’m pregnant, I’m 21 years old. I wanna get a ultrasound before I tell my parents and everyone else, but I’m on my parents insurance idk if the insurance will tell them I was there or they will get a Notification or something I will pay for the bill my self. ￼I don’t wanna go get an ultrasound and it ruin the surprise if they will tell them.

it will show up on the bill. are you gonna tell them after the ultrasound confirms the pregnancy? because they won’t get the bill for a couple weeks

Yes, the explanation of benefits will be sent to them from the insurance company.  And then a bill from the doctor’s office.  You can tell your doctor’s office you’d like to be cash pay and see if they’ll accept that!   Then just pay with your card before your appointment❤️ Good luck!

The insurance sends an EOB to the policy holder/ address they have on file for you, so yes your parents are going to know. Insurance usually takes 30-45 days to process claims, and then like another 10 days to mail out EOBs.

The insurance will send a bill to whoever is the policy holder with an itemized list of what they did and did not pay for.

All my general pregnancy bills come through after birth,except this time I had an early scan to rule out ectopic and they sent me a bill-assuming bc it was outside of routine care.  There will be a small delay though so come up with a plan on how you’ll support yourself/baby and next steps before you tell them if it makes you more comfortable

Yes, it will show on their statement! You said you will pay so just pay then surprise them or take the ultrasound tell them the next day. It usually take about a week before it’s mailed out…good luck

Those statements usually take a month or two to come in so you might have time. You could also try and snag it out of the mail before they see it.

It should notify them but weeks later. I was pregnant on my parents the first time and they didn’t get it until way later after we told everyone.
