Baby food..??

So my daughter had her 4 month wellness check up yesterday & her pediatrician brought up baby food. Said she’s showing all the signs of being ready to try. Thoughts on it with her being 4 months?? Any other moms start their babies @ 4 months?

We’re not starting baby food until closer to 6 months. He’s 4.5 months now.

Pediatrician recommended I try some oatmeal for my 4.5 month old because he has bad reflux (is on medication) sometimes solid food can help keep the spit up down. But it made my baby so much worse. He was gassy and even more refluxy for hours after. I don’t think their digestive systems are developed enough until 6 months 🤷🏼‍♀️ there’s really no need to hurry it.

Yes!!! My baby loves all the baby food. We started right before 4 months! We use these to help with new foods as well.

I started yesterday and so far he’s loving it and doing great. He’s digesting well and doesn’t seem to be fussy because of gas. We were told to only do 2 tablespoons of gerber rice cereal and to do for dinner time. Do what feels right for your baby. Ours was showing so much interest in the things we eat and drink and we felt confident doing it.

Don’t try the cereals, they have no nutritional value and the rice ones have high levels of arsenic. I would try some purées only to taste, not really as a meal, after 5 months. Do some research on baby led weaning and you can start once baby can sit with little support

We started our little one at 4 months but only because 1) we got dr’s approval, and 2) he was showing a ton of interest. I mean trying to grab food off our our plates/take our spoons away from us level of interest. He’s been having a blast trying new foods!

We’ve been introducing stuff since her four month check up. She’s not super fond of anything yet. We try to incorporate it in daily. We had been letting her taste flavors on our fingers as she gnaws on them. Be it some breastmilk with cereal, teething on an apple, licking banana mush of my fingers while she’s teething on my fingers, and I just put strawberry into a mesh teether last night.

No need to hurry if baby is brestfed or formula fed, different recomendations are confusing, but I will wait untill 5months atleast. Does your baby really show interest in food you eat at 4monts?
