What kind of preschool/daycare are your June babies going to?

Pa

Well I ended up choosing the brand new school that is close to home, also a public city school, and he started yesterday!!

We had parent orientation today and I learned they are following Reggio Emilia approach and it’s so cool! Also, it’s such a cute school!!! I’m so embarrassed that I didn’t know there were several approaches, methods, curriculums that school followed! I just assumed there was “regular school” or Montessori and that’s it lmao 🫣 he went to a “transition to preschool” program for 2 weeks at the beginning of August and he did so well. The staff are AMAZING. They classrooms are so neutral, natural, calm, inviting and cozy. They are given so much freedom and have so many activities and things for them to do. Not a single desk or overwhelming posters with a ton of info. I’m just in love with everything there honestly! They also don’t have your typical recess where you play at a jungle gym. They have a playground, and it’s separated from this little grassy area garden part, then they also have an outside play kitchen where they get use things from nature like sea shells and pine cones for imaginary kitchen play. Water tables!! Ugh. Just beautiful!! So far they are only doing 2.5 hr sessions but one of the teachers mentioned that they will find out at the end of the year if they will be able to do full day sessions. I’m so so so excited for my little guy!!!

They will also be going outside during ALL weather changes!!! And they have an art studio in the school where they will be going once a week!!! 😭
