I’m confused

I’ve never had a yeast infection, when I got off work last night I had alot of white discharge on the lips of my vagina. Google keeps saying it’s supposed to be inflamed, itchiness, etc. Nothing is wrong except what I see. My period is 8 days late as well. I tested after it was 1 day late and the test was negative. I’m confused.
