I rarely get a ‘true’ surge but I’m still ovulating. My LH darkens but rarely gets as dark or darker than the control line.

Yea Opks don’t confirm ovulation or dpo. You would need to add bbt to confirm ovulation to know if you ovulated or get blood work done.
