Happy Holidays everyone... Have a question and wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience.

My husband and I have started trying to conceive number 2 in August. Since then I've had only 3 cycles (I'm currently on cycle 4). My cycles are usually 30 days but two of the three cycles I've already had have gone to 45 days (which hasn't happened since having my son--I've been pretty regular). The middle cycle was 30 days again. Now I'm almost 4 days late on cycle 4. The last two late cycles had negative pregnancy tests (except for one very very incredibly faint positive that went away the next day).

After the second 45 day cycle I went to my doctor, mostly because I wanted to see why it seemed like it wasn't "taking." They even did an ultrasound to make sure nothing funky was going on in my uterus or ovaries, and everything was great. My doctor told me that it's common for these "almost" times to happen where sometimes the egg is fertilized and then just doesn't progress. She told me not to worry and just to keep trying.

So here I am with my 4th cycle late again, and I've had some symptoms again, and now (TMI sorry) I've got all kinds of itching and CM down there. I don't know if it's a hormone drop or yeast or what, but it's uncomfortable. I've had none of the symptoms that usually tell me that AF is coming, and I'm afraid to test. I'm afraid of the rejection again of a negative test. I bought the tests but am afraid to use them and face the letdown again.

Has this or something like it happened to anyone else? Did anyone have these cycles where it "didn't take" and then eventually got pregnant? I'm thinking right now that I'll test tomorrow morning so at least if I'm not pregnant I will still have fun Christmas time to take my mind off of it. If anyone can give me some insight or encouragement I would really appreciate it! Thanks for your help.
