At first when getting the mirena iud I didn't think anything about the symptoms really. Like I was getting ready to leave for college and all i wanted was protection. When i went to get it inserted my doctor told me things like.. Its a really safe form of birth control just remember to use a condom or you can easily catch an infection and you may not have periods anymore (which was more than fine with me, because less worries) so i was like blah blah blah lets begin! Well ive had this birth control for about 4 going on 5 months. I cramped for like the first week and had spotting for a month and it was on and off for about the first two months and happened not that much now im completely period free. But I'm starting to notice changes. I use to like recieving and giving affection now I barely think about it.. And when i tried to have sex I just couldnt get in the mood or get wet what so ever!!! (by the way when i got it inserted I wasnt sexually active for about 3 years until recently which made insertion pretty painful) .. Anyways I'm really considering getting this thing removed ASAP! What is the point of getting protected if i cant even do what its made for .. Which is protecting me during sex. Is anyone else having these problems or have any solutions? im not sure which other birth control i want to switch to.
