my ex texted me a few days ago saying he missed me and loved me and we ended up deciding we were going to try again in the future but right now we both have stuff to figure out, he wanted me to stay single and i said okay but then today i kissed someone i’ve been talking to… my ex knows i was talking to them but if me and my ex got back together in the future should this affect our relationship? and should i tell him that we kissed?

you shouldn’t bother getting back together with someone who literally isn’t willing to even commit again. he’s giving himself an out.

Nah, there is no "in the future we're gonna try again BUT---". Just no. Wanting you to stay single and wait around for him to get his shit together is just wrong. If you're already talking to another guy then don't make that guy suffer just because you have hopes your ex will one day want to get back together. To me it sounds like he's just telling you what you want to hear so you'll be there waiting when whatever he is doing in the mean time falls through. My advice would be to just keep doing you in the mean time. If you two are meant to be together then it will happen, but don't force yourself to miss out on what you could be having now on something that may never happen.

There is a reason a person is an ex is what I like to say... I'm sure you might love him alot as a person but if you have been talking to a guy and you like this new guy, give the new guy  the chance not your ex. 
Was in an on and off relationship for 5 years and then he broke up with me through text message, he wanted me back but I was talking to a guy and I kissed him too..... now happily married to the man I gave a chance in love vs my ex ❤
