Sex Education
Hoping we can have a civil discussion (no bashing, name calling, pettiness) about the ways sex education has evolved in the last several years. Sex education used to be an abstinence only approach, which we all know is incredibly ineffective. As time has gone on, not only have we come to understand the importance of sex education for teenagers, but also for younger children. Explaining aspects of sex education such as consent, autonomy, knowing how to find a “safe adult”, and correct anatomy are all should begin way earlier than high school.
How have you seen sex education change as a society? What was your experience with sex education? Did your parents address this with you or did you learn from a school class? Did you know about sex before you were taught either by school class or parents?
And hoping this won’t be deleted as the last several posts about sec ex and school have been 🤦♀️
