‘Mama’s boy’
There are a lot of negative connotations to this phrase.
If a male is called a ‘mama’s boy’ or ‘mummy’s boy’ it implies the man has an unhealthy relationship with his mother and is influenced by her heavily in a bad way.
My female friends always say they don’t want to date a ‘mummy’s boy.’
Yet I never hear men say they don’t want to date a ‘mama’s girl’ or a girl who is super close with her mum.
Why do you guys think this is? Where did it come from?
