When to bring baby out

My baby is 3 weeks and I am not ready to bring her to family’s houses for visitation. I tell them they can visit us in our home. Should I be bringing her out to their houses or is it okay that I am still not comfortable with it?

Your baby, do what you are comfortable with! The more kids I have, the sooner I'm willing to leave the house with the newest addition. Maybe it's partially a lack of the new parent fears, maybe it's partially bc life with 3 kids doesn't offer the luxury of staying in much.

Personally, I don’t understand why people expect the new parents to shuttle their newborn around to visit them in the first place. If people want to see your baby, they should be coming to you, in the comfort of your own home.

Your baby, you call the shots! If it makes you feel more comfortable staying in, then I would stay in! I did. Plus covid, fly and rsv season! Don’t let anyone kiss your baby either! Just saying.

After reading the comments, I’m just here to let you know that it will also be okay if you do decide to take them out. I went to my moms two days after we came home from the hospital for Sunday dinner and went to a wedding when baby was 9 days old. Not criticizing or pressuring, just a story on the slip side of people who stay home for weeks afterward. That just isn’t us and the doctors were fine with it.

your baby, your preferences, your rules. don’t let ANYONE make you feel bad for protecting your family. nobody aside from our parents & siblings met our baby til he had shots at 2 months old. and honestly at 6 months old we still hardly go anywhere just simply due to covid/rsv. even the few people who have been around my baby i literally make them pretty much bathe in hand sanitizer & lecture about no kissing him & touching his mouth 🤷🏼‍♀️

We only took our daughter out for Dr appointments. If family wanted to see her they would have to visit. Do what makes you feel comfortable with your precious little one.
