Umbilical hernia pain

I'm about 5 months PP with my 3rd child and have been having moderate to severe abdominal pain since even before i had him. I know that i have an umbilical hernia, it can clearly be seen next to my bellybutton. But I also seem to have a buldge above my bellybutton that won't go away. I'm just curious those of you that have gotten it repaired, how bad was the surgery and the healing? How long did it take? I think I need to start the process of being seen for it but I don't even know where to start? My ob found it but wouldn't repair it til I'm done having kids. Do I just see my family doctor? I don't know where to start, any help is appreciated!
