I just got a phone call from my doctors office informing me that 2 out of the 4 blood samples I provided during my 3-hour glucose test were elevated. My doctor wants me to monitor my blood sugars for 7 days with a glucometer and follow up with her after the 7 days.

This is my first time failing my 3-hour test (previous 2 pregnancies my 1-hour came back slightly elevated but the 3-hour tests have been fine). I’m obviously worried 🥲. Should I cut out sugars completely now or wait until my follow up? As much as I want to just quit cold turkey, I feel that if I do, my results may be skewed.

I will admit that with this pregnancy I have eating more sweets than with my other two because that’s all I crave. I definitely plan on drastically limiting the sweets I have for the next 7 days, but I don’t know if I should cut them out completely now or wait for my follow up.

Please help!
