So… I went through a harrowing labor… for the last two months I’ve just been focusing on my baby and a family crisis. Mateo was due 7/10. 6/29 at checkup; I’d developed hyperextension but no preeclampsia… I worked until 7/01, went for monitoring. They decided they wanted to induce me 7/05. I’d hoped for 7/07 baby, and was so close… but after 51hours of labor after induction…and so many bad decisions by birthing team, I had to demand a c section, as I was stuck at 9.5. Come to find out, They would have had to perform Emergency c section anyway. I had several complications in those 51 hours… lots of vomiting, baby heart rate drops, elevated BP… diagnosis of preeclampsia at hour 40 they thought I was going to have stroke… so they gave me so many meds, despite my birthing plan directive, rather than just do c section… it was awful. I was just 2 hours into 7/08 when he was born.

But after all of that, I’m happy to say, that I’m over the moon with our sweet boy, Mateo Lennon
