Cervix behind babies head? What’s this mean?

I’m overdue and they said they can’t do a membrane sweep because the cervix was behind my babies head? What’s this mean? Did anyone have this and go into labor naturally or does this mean possible needed to get induced?

I think they must have said baby's head is right behind cervix. There's honestly no need to get a membrane sweep. Your body will go into labor when you and baby are ready. No need to be induced.

It means you cervix is posterior still it has not moved forward and your baby is not fully engaged/ or improperly engaged to cause it too so they won’t try to induce labor until baby and you body is in position to do so. When you body is preparing for labor your cervix moves forward (anterior) and start to efface due to the baby’s head being in the proper position.

i’m not sure if it’s the same thing or not but my cervix was pointed towards my back. my doctor had to literally hook her finger in and pull it up to see how dilated i was. she said it’s normal, it’s just the way the baby’s head is positioned and during labor it dilates and straightens itself out
