I take care of my 2 1/2 year old son 7 days a week. I am always there when he wakes up, I make all his breakfasts, lunch and dinner everday as my husband is at work all day. I do all the teaching, play time, story time etc.

I work part time 3 days a week for 3 hours, and in that time my husband takes our son to my in-laws so he doesn’t do much parenting as they play and entertain my son.

My son doesn’t ever stay with my in laws alone because if my husband leaves the house our son cries the house down until he returns. I blame my husband for this because they can’t ever have our son so we can have date nights etc.

My mother in law is quite loud when she talks. I was ill one day sleeping and she came over to our house to see our son and my husband told her that she needs to be quiet as I am unwell upstairs sleeping.

Well in she comes talking so loud it woke me up and I heard my husband telling her to shhh but she kept on talking loud, laughing and clapping her hands to entertain my son.

My mom doesn’t live close by and when she has said she would come over to see my son she cancels to say she’s unwell so she isn’t there for me.

I will be honest it’s tiring looking after my son and I want a break for at least a few hours a week so I can have some me time. I never have the time to do anything for myself.

He isn’t ready for pre school as he’s behind in speech and his behaviour and not potty trained.

Any advice welcome?
