hey ladies, so i need some reassurance! it’s been about 4 or 5 days of me testing (i’m 6 weeks today yay!) and noticing that i went from having dye stealers to the control line getting more and more pigment in it each morning. today i was especially anxious because i never thought i’d make it to 6 weeks since the last time i was pregnant i miscarried at 5 weeks and 4 days. i frantically started googling and it turns out that this is a common thing that happens around 6 weeks and it’s called the hook effect. basically there’s so much hcg in your urine that the tests no longer can process it accurately, causing the control line to borrow ink from the test line. a lot of forums say that you can test this theory by diluting your urine and testing again and it should have a light control again if everything is within normal range. has anyone else ever heard of or experienced this? 😩 im trying not to panic because i know stress isn’t good for the baby but i’m high key nervous.
