Elle as nickname for Isabelle?

Husband does not like the name Elle, but I'm in love with it. He's agreed to Isabelle with Elle as a nickname, but I'm not sure if it's dumb to use such a lovely name just to shorten it. Any other name suggestions to shorten to Elle or thoughts?

so funny, I love Elle as well but my husband  didn't love any of the "full" names usually associated. I think it could work but you'd probably run into more common nicknames being used over time. But not a stretch so I say use it if you love it. Just a few other suggestions- Elizabeth? Eleanor? Eliana? Lorelei was one we were strongly considering too! In the same boat as Isabelle!

I don't think anyone but you would call her Elle. I think she would wind up being called izzy or bell by friends.

My friend named her daughter Sierra and I loved it. It's also my middle name. But they always call her CC. It's so sad, such a beautiful name. I'm the only one who actually calls her Sierra.

I think it's perfect. She will tell friends and teachers in school that she goes by Elle and that's what everyone will call her
