I’m 38+1 and I had a membrane sweep today after going to my OB for contractions every 5-10 minutes apart since last night. She confirmed I’m 3cm now (was 1cm Friday) and in early labor. She sent me home and told me that it can take anywhere between 2-48 hours for it to show any effect, If at all.

Has anyone had a membrane sweep while in early labor? Did it speed up labor or dilation? I’ve already started cramping since we did it a couple hours ago (on top of just regular contractions) and have had bloody mucus plug since last night.
