How can I protect my cat
So we just started renting in a new area. There's a Bengal cat here who is much bigger than my cat and already twice my poor cat has had his poor head scratched up badly.
I have tried to secure the garden as much as possible but this cat is coming in from the other side of the garden (IE not even their garden) and I can't do anything there because there are trees on both sides of the wall that it climbs up/ down. Being a tenant, I have no authority to cut down the tree and I can't demand people to cut down their trees for someone else's cat.
I can't build a catio because I got denied permission to do this. I tried building one myself, not fixing it in anyway to the property, but the landlord told me to take it down.
I have let my dogs chase it out the yard but it keeps coming back.
I can't keep the windows closed - it's already HOT HOT HOT here and although I have a portable air conditioner, it only does so much. It's stifling. Not only that, I have two other cats that come in and out the garden and they NEVER fight with anyone.
My cat was fixed at five months old, and this cat comes into OUR yard. I know where this cat lives and have left notes in the owners postbox as they never seen to be home, but they have never called me.
Short from moving, anyone have any other suggestions? How do I repel stranger cats from my yard?
PS before anyone asks, our vet app for this scratch is this evening.
