What would you do? Please read before voting

So I’m just over 41 weeks and no signs of baby coming. My midwife cleared me to try castor oil (so it would be medically monitored if I do decide to take it). I have an exam for college on Thursday that I can defer to the end of semester which was the plan assuming baby would’ve arrived. Now I’m having doubts as to whether take the castor oil today hoping baby comes and defer the exam, or wait till Thursday and just do the exam since I waited so long anyways. If baby doesn’t come till Friday I have to go for an induction this weekend so my fear is that the castor oil doesn’t work on Thurs and not having a second attempt. I’d like to avoid a medical induction cause they don’t let my husband in the hospital until the birth is imminent so basically last few minutes. If I went in during established labour he can go in with me. What would you do?

Do your research on castor oil and decide yourself only because so many people have their own opinions. I was told by my ob before in previous pregnancies to take it, it never worked but it did dilate me.

I depends on how confident you are in the exam. If I felt good taking the exam I would just go ahead and do it and after I finish the exam I would start trying methods to get baby out. If you aren't ready for the exam then just put it off and then get to trying now. Since you are doing your best to avoid induction, you really got to start doing it all to get baby out lol.

I think we all have different views on how to go about this. Sit down and way out the pros and cons. 
To me, being induced and not having my significant other there is a deal breaker. I would be doing every safe home remedy possible to get labor started.

I drank raspberry leaf tea with a chunk of cinammon stick, a bay leaf and pinch of cumin twice a day and that put me into labor real quick! Cinammon causes uterine contractions

Has your midwife done a membrane sweep? If so, I’d try the castor oil and ALL other safe home remedies to naturally induce. 
My OB did a membrane sweep and my baby was born exactly 13 hours later.

Do you think you'll do well in your exam? I would wait and take it when I felt super confident. As for castor oil, I think I'd rather wait and have my waters broken
