My Birth Story
Well for the whole pregnancy I had gestational diabetes and severe pre-eclampsia. Always had my blood pressure really high. On the 8th of July I was Hospitalized and I was around 30 to 31 weeks along. On the 17th of July I was transferred to another hospital due to that where I was at first they don't premature babies. At midnight going to July 18th, the doctors came into my room to take my blood pressure and I had it 170/100 and they took my to an emergency C-section at 33 weeks along.
I only remembered going in there at 12:30 midnight and coming out at 5:28am and that's because I kept asking the doctors what time it was.
Since I was C-section the first 2 days I couldn't see my baby!! At the 3rd day I got up and started walking around and the doctors took me to NICU to see my baby!! Her weight was 4 pounds 8ounces. She was so small and was with oxygen to help her the first few days. Her weight started going up while my blood pressure never went down. I was there 10 days after the C-section with medicine and nothing worked. Until an internal Gynecologist came to see me and he suggested to do more lab work and put me on a big bag of Nitroglycerin for 2 and a half days. Couldn't get up. Couldn't see my baby! After that Nitroglycerin worked and the labs came in, they saw that what was happening was that my kidneys and liver were already failing due to the high blood pressure. But thank God the 28 of July I came out of the hospital with obviously medicine for life and with my beautiful baby girl!
