Induction experiences?

So I’m 38 almost 39 weeks and have no signs of labor starting anytime soon. My dr wants to discuss options at my appointment tomorrow but I don’t really know what I’m looking at. My first pregnancy was an emergency c section early, so I’ve never had to be induced. I have 2 friends who did have to be and they both had horrible experiences with the drugs. Can I hear both the good and bad and what worked for you? I need some real life examples and specific drugs that worked or didn’t work for you.

Edit to add: I never said they were going to induce me, just that my dr wanted to talk about my options. My dr has always been very open with me and talked me through everything because she knows I like to be informed. I’m just trying to get other experiences so I can have a better understanding. It doesn’t mean my dr is pressuring me into anything or that it’s to early for me to be prepared. I didn’t ask opinions on when, I asked for experiences with the process.
