Terrible dates?

How do you go about letting someone know you don’t want to continue talking to them even though it’s been a short period of time. I started talking to a guy online for about 2/3 days which we were getting along pretty well, I went over to their place today which was not in the cleanest shape and not something I can overlook.

Just tell him it’s not gonna work, if you want to spare his feelings you can make up something about being in different places or not being ready for a commitment. I personally would just say you don’t see you two working out for personal reasons. Either way he’s gonna be bummed so you might as well just get it over with 😅
