Where do babies come from!!!

I have a six year old who is very curious lol anyone very open with there children? If so how do you word it...I'm not ready to be that open with her just yet...ill let her believe her theory that daddy gave me a special seed that planted into my tummy garden when I ate it.. because every mommy has a tummy garden..and when the baby is ready to be picked the doc reaches in and cuts the stem and that's it.LMAO ... just curious about how other people handle this question :)

I'm the type of mom that would bust open an anatomy book. When kids are asking the questions they are showing you that they are ready for answers. I understand most parents won't go into detail but my daughter is very smart, responsible, and can handle the info. I'd rather keep that line of communication open now. I want her to know that I am safe. She can always ask me and I will tell her the truth. I'd rather she learn from me than the other girls on the playground.

My mom had one of my younger sisters when I was six too, my mom bought an age appropriate sex book and told us something along the lines that when two people love each other very much they sleep together to make a baby.  There's was nothing about sex itself though. I still remember one of the pictures was of a man and women facing each other in bed smiling! Haha.  But I do remember my mom being open about baby being in her belly and having to come out of her vagina.   I don't know that there is a right or wrong way to explain it to your kids!  But if she seems happy with your answer then I say job well done! Haha

My parents were always blatantly honest. I have known what sex was and how it worked since I was about 6 or 7. Partially, it's just because I  pretty smart. But if I had questions of any kind, my parents never freaked out when I asked them. Of course, they were age-appropriate answers, and they were never gross or too graphic, but they also didn't want me to ask someone else because I didn't buy their stories. Now, I am a healthy and happy adult. I am madly in love with my husband, have a great sex life, and am pregnant with my first baby.

I have an almost 6 year old and 4 year old daughters. They have seen me on my period ages ago, I explained that all girls are born with ovaries, which hold tiny little eggs, when you go through puberty, you grow breasts and each month one egg is released and if no baby grows, we have a period. Then the cycle repeats until we are older. This wasn't in one conversation, but maybe over several weeks. When my kids ask a question I try to answer in the most direct and age appropriate way.

It's a personal parenting choice but my girls were completely unphased and it makes sense to them. They haven't asked yet what the dads roll is and I'm not certain on how/what I'm going to say lol. They do know babies come out of vaginas and breasts are for making milk.

Ok so it actually sounds like its more healthy for me and her to explain the best  I can about how it really works..my daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer at 15 months old and 4 years cancer free this year and her bio dad passed away in 2013 from a motor cycle accident she is smart and open to me about her feelings we discuss everything with her health and about her dad...but idk why its so hard for me to discuss this...mayb I'm feeling she is growing up to quickly?

My son was 6 when I got pregnant with my now 6 month old and asked how he got in there and I gave him the "mom and dad made him and that's where he goes to grow blah blah blah" then he watched a birth video haha.
I'm now pregnant again and he's 8 and was asking again and man did he get an ear full. I was drawing pictures of fallopian tube and everything. Whether or not he absorbed any of it, I don't know but I feel good giving him the cold hard facts about it. My husband thinks I'm crazy and that I'm gonna get a phone call from the school when my son starts telling his friends but I haven't yet! Haha

Mine are 4 and 6 thankfully none of those questions yet. We told them they can't jump around on me anymore because that can hurt me and the new baby. But if they ask I'm gonna give them the kid friendly version. I'm not big on the whole stork or anything like that.

My personal belief is that honesty and openness with a child of any age will better the relationship and take the taboo out of sex and relationships. If you're open with them, they'll be open with you when the time comes. I looked online and enjoyed this article. Maybe it will help you?
